As a child, I used to escape to the most beautiful garden in the world.
The "Inscription to a Garden Gate" is from the gate to that garden. I would
enter each time with a heavy heart and at times so fearful of the problems
I had left. I would hide behind the huge statues and pretend that life was
wonderful. Many hours were spent in prayer there asking God to make
my life perfect. He never answered those prayers but He gave me the
strength to return to what life had for me. I knew that when I left the
garden, the problems would go with me but just for the moment, I let
the beauty that surrounded me touch not just my eyes but my soul.
